Physics II: The Ghost Observer Parable: Why No Global Time Function Can Define the Physical Present of the Universe
This paper presents the Ghost Observer as a fictional parable about global simultaneity in general relativity. Every physical observer occupies an event and receives only a causal past; consequently, no level set of a global time function has a causal owner. ADM foliations, FLRW cosmic time, the CMB rest frame, matter clocks, boundary conditions, and numerical gauges may organize calculations or select slices, but none turns a slice into the physical present of the Universe. Any solution that substitutes such a slice for an observer-received physical state therefore makes a false physical identification. **Keywords** Ghost Observer; observer relativity; global time function; global simultaneity; causal ownership; general relativity.
