Children's Literature
Abstract It is worth noting that children’s literature is one of the rapidly growing fields in the literature on one hand, but on the other hand, it is also the most argumentative area of study among critics and all interested persons. children’s literature, the body of written works and accompanying illustrations produced in order to entertain or instruct young people. The genre encompasses a wide range of works, including acknowledged classics of world literature, picture books and easy-to-read stories written exclusively for children, and fairy tales, lullabies, fables, folk songs, and other primarily orally transmitted materials.Originating in didactic and moral instruction, the field has expanded to prioritise imaginative play, multimodal meaning-making and critical inquiry. Contemporary research highlights the role of visual narrative, typographic design and digital media in shaping narrative comprehension, while also interrogating issues of representation, environmental ethics and social justice. By fostering linguistic, visual and digital literacies, children’s literature serves as a vital site for empathy building, identity formation and global citizenship, with applications ranging from classroom pedagogy and teacher training to inclusive publishing and museum education.
