Artificial Intelligence in Personal Finance Management: An Empirical Study of Young Investors in the Kalyan Region

Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is embedded in every financial transaction and interaction through robo-advising, auto- Recommendations, portfolios tracking, digital financial assistants, and financial information processing tools. This paper considers the relevance of AI to young investors of the Kalyan Region. Using relevant published evidence from SEBI, NSE, AMFI and RBI, along with peer-reviewed research and analysis, this paper applies descriptive, comparative and trend-oriented analysis to examine the use and impact of AI in personal finance management. Evidence shows an ageing-down of India's investor base, with young people constituting an increasing proportion of the registered individual investors. The study finds that AI can reduce information and access barriers and enable personalisation, monitoring, and analysis. However, the benefits are limited by financial literacy, trust, perceived risk, transparency and ability to question AI outputs.
