Outcomes of switching from faricimab to aflibercept 8 mg in nAMD: a real-world case series
Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) is a leading cause of vision loss among the elderly in developed countries [ 1 ]. Intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy improves outcomes, but frequent injections may reduce adherence [ 2 ]. Aflibercept 8 mg was developed to extend dosing intervals and reduce treatment burden. In the PULSAR trial, it demonstrated non-inferior efficacy and comparable safety to aflibercept 2 mg, with longer treatment intervals [ 3 ]. However, real-world evidence remains limited. This study evaluated early outcomes after switching from faricimab to aflibercept 8 mg in suboptimal responders with nAMD.
