There are many individuals that comprise the senior leadership of a nonprofit, and chief among them is the board chair. This individual, sometimes called the board president, is the leader of the board and has all the same rights and responsibilities as other board members—including voting rights—plus a slew of additional responsibilities that impact the governance and operations of the organization.
