The Effect Of Festivals And Cultural Events On Consumer Spending On Arts, Crafts, And Experiences In Dombivali City, Thane District
Abstract Festivals and cultural events play an important role in the local economy of Indian cities. In Dombivli, Thane District, festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Navratri, and local art and food festivals encourage people to spend more money on different products and activities. During these festivals, people often buy handmade arts, crafts, decorations, food, and other traditional products. They also spend money on entertainment and cultural experiences. This research study examines how festivals and cultural events influence consumer spending on arts, crafts, and cultural experiences in Dombivli. The study uses both primary and secondary data. Primary data will be collected through surveys of consumers and vendors, while secondary data will be collected from research papers, reports, and news sources. The study shows that festivals can increase consumer spending during specific seasons. These events also provide support and business opportunities to local artists, craft makers, and small vendors. Festivals can also attract visitors and help promote local culture and tourism. The study further explains how festivals and cultural events can contribute to good governance and sustainable development in Dombivli, which is a rapidly growing city near Mumbai.
