CoARA-ERIP SE4RA Self evaluation for administrators, faculty, and students
This instrument is a checklist for self-evaluation in responsible research assessment, for use within research-performing organisations by administrators, faculty, and students. Grounded in the values of research ethics and research integrity and in the transformation of assessment by data and artificial intelligence, it offers three aligned instruments, for institutional governance, for research assessment practice, and for the student experience, so that an institution can examine its own assessment culture across scales. It sets out the framework’s purpose, its values, and its methodology, including a response scale, a scoring approach, and the triangulation of the three perspectives, allowing an institution to see where its practice is coherent, where it is merely symbolic, and where reform is needed. Developed within CoARA-ERIP and piloted through the SE4RA project, it treats self-evaluation not as external measurement but as an act of institutional learning and responsible reform.
