Developmental and Regional Transcriptomic Specialization of Fat-Associated Tissues in Xinghua Chickens
This project investigates the developmental and regional transcriptomic specialization of fat-associated tissues in Xinghua chickens. Bulk RNA sequencing was performed on 93 samples collected from six individuals, including 15 anatomically defined fat-associated regions at embryonic day 16 and 16 regions at 2 weeks post-hatch. The sampled regions comprised the ophthalmic region (OR), lateral cervical region (LCR), tracheal region (TR), clavicular-coracoid region (CCR), lateral thoracic region (LTR), sartorius region (SaR), transverse abdominal region (TAR), subalar region (SuR), lateral abdominal region (LA), leg root region (LRR), femoral region (FR), ischiopubic region (IPR), spinal region (SpR), synsacral region (SyR), and abdominal region (AR). The visceral fat region (VR) was additionally collected at 2 weeks post-hatch. Single-nucleus RNA sequencing was performed on AR tissue from one individual at each developmental stage to characterize its cellular composition and explore the cell-type associations of bulk transcriptional signatures. This dataset supports analyses of developmental transcriptomic remodeling, regional gene-expression differences, co-expression networks, and cross-omics integration between bulk and single-nucleus RNA-seq.
