PS12-21. Effect of Tannin of Chestnut and MGM-P on Growing Stage of Piglets.

Abstract In previous studied of condensed tannins MGM-P that extracted from Quebracho have showed their effects on post-weaning diarrhea, growth performance, and intestinal morphology of piglets (Ma et al., 2021). The results showed that adding 0.2% and 0.3% concentrations of MGM-P effectively reduced the incidence of post-weaning diarrhea and improved intestinal morphology without causing anti-nutritional effects. The 0.3% concentration of MGM-P demonstrated a better effect on alleviating post-weaning diarrhea. Then, when increased the concentration of MGM-P in the feed to the 0.5% and 1.0% (Ma et al., 2024), the 0.5% concentration group had significant effects of growth-promoting properties. However, the 1.0% concentration group showed tendency severe anti-nutritional effects, reducing feed conversion efficiency and daily weight gain. To find better tannin expect to have better growth promotion effect the present study conducted comparison experiment the 0.5% MGM-P and 0.5% Chestnut tannin on growth performance. The results showed both of two tannin groups increased bodyweight and ADG without anemia.
