Flexible Catheter-Assisted Fourth Ventricular Hematoma Drainage and Evidence of its Effect on Prognosis with Modified Graeb Score (mGS): A Rare Case Report

Abstract Postoperative intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) can occur for various reasons after cranial surgery. Although some residual hemorrhage is acceptable, major ICH worsens patients' clinical condition and negatively affects prognosis. When performed appropriately and timely, external ventricular drainage applications are life-saving. Today, it is the preferred surgical method for preventing hydrocephalus and eliminating hemorrhage. In our case, we presented the radiological findings of external drainage to the 4th ventricle with a flexible-soft catheter due to the development of postoperative ICH in a 73-year-old male patient who underwent surgery for a brain tumor and the hemorrhage drainage. There is a notable positive effect of drainage on prognosis, as proven by the modified Graeb score (mGS). We hope that it will serve as an example for the literature.
