INTEGRATED APPROACH TO THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF PROSTATE CANCER: FROM PSA SCREENING AND PROSTATE BIOPSY TO MRI, PSMA PET/CT AND RADICAL PROSTATECTOMY
Prostate cancer diagnosis requires an integrated assessment of PSA, MRI, biopsy and PSMA PET/CT. This review summarizes the role of these methods in detecting clinically significant cancer, determining disease extent and selecting patients for radical prostatectomy. The combination of PSA-based risk assessment, multiparametric MRI and targeted biopsy improves diagnostic accuracy, while PSMA PET/CT provides additional information for staging high-risk disease. An individualized diagnostic pathway may improve treatment selection and reduce unnecessary interventions.
