Abstract Democracy Is One Of The Most Important Forms Of Political Organization In The Modern World. It Is Based On The Principles Of Popular Sovereignty, Political Equality, Representation, Participation, Accountability, And Rule Of Law And Protection Of Fundamental Rights. Electoral Politics Constitutes One Of The Central Mechanisms Through Which Democratic Principles Are Translated Into Political Practice. Elections Enable Citizens To Choose Their Representatives, Influence Government Formation And Hold Political Authorities Accountable. The Present Research Paper Examines The Relationship Between Democracy And Electoral Politics From The Perspective Of Political Science. It Studies The Meaning, Evolution And Essential Features Of Democracy And Analyzes The Importance Of Elections In Representative Government. Particular Attention Is Given To Universal Adult Franchise, Political Parties, Electoral Competition, Representation, Election Campaigns, Voter Participation, Electoral Institutions And The Role Of The Election Commission Of India. The Study Concludes That Electoral Politics Is Indispensable To Democratic Government, But The Quality Of Democracy Depends Upon The Fairness, Inclusiveness, Transparency And Credibility Of The Entire Electoral Process. Strengthening Democratic Institutions, Voter Education, Political Accountability And Electoral Reforms Is Therefore Essential For The Continued Development Of Indian Democracy.
