The Charlson Comorbidity Index and Health-Related Quality of Life in Endometrial Cancer Patients

Do other health problems (like common comorbidities, diabetes or heart disease) affect quality of life in endometrial cancer patients consistently? Most patients in this population live with other chronic conditions alongside their endometrial cancer. Knowing and understanding which factor(s) drive poor quality of life help healthcare providers to target support to the survivors who need it most. Patients with endometrial cancer are characterized by a high burden of comorbidities which is associated with worsening quality of life - suggesting a potential clinician target for patient support. In general, this challenges the previous assumption that endometrial tumor type predicts survivor wellbeing alone, overall health burden matters as much, if not more.
