Basic Structure of the Cell

The smallest living thing is the cell. All cells are different in terms of size and structure, but they have a number of fundamental components in common. This narrative review outlines briefly the basic structures of an ordinary eukaryotic cell such as a plasma membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, and various organelles. Knowledge about these structures leads to a better understanding of human biology and the nature of diseases.
