BIBLIOMETRIC MAPPING OF THE EVIDENCE-BASED NURSING PRACTICE LITERATURE

This research aims to create a comprehensive and systematic map of current knowledge in the evidence-based nursing literature, thereby providing a foundation for future scientific studies. This study utilized bibliometric analysis methods. The study's sample consists of works found in the Web of Science database that contain the words or keywords "Evidence-Based Nursing," "Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing," or "Nursing Evidence-Based Practice" in their titles or keywords. The study's data consists of works published between 1997 and 2025. This data was accessed from the relevant website in September 2025. The WOSviewer analysis 1.6.20 software was used for data analysis. Clustering, density, and network mapping analyses were performed, and the findings were tabulated using percentage and frequency distributions and presented as descriptive statistics. It was determined that the first work in the field of evidence-based nursing was published in 1997, that articles ranked first among the types of works (f=119), and that the highest number of publications occurred in 2024 (f=108). The most frequently used keywords in publications related to the field are "evidence-based nursing" (f=531) and "evidence-based practice" (f=150), and it has been observed that the keywords self-management, best evidence, and knowledge have started to be used in these works after 2020. China (n = 248) and the United States (n = 213) were found to be the countries with the most works on the subject. The significant increase in the number of research studies on evidence-based nursing in recent years indicates that the field is both a current and scientifically noteworthy area of research. Studies in evidence-based nursing show a trend towards self-management and the best evidence and information. It is recommended that researchers design their future studies taking this trend into account.
