SOCIO-PEDAGOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF STUDENTS' INDEPENDENT WORK IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The article deals with methodological questions concerning the organisation of students’ independent work at higher education institutions. Pedagogical, psychological and social peculiarities of independent work have been observed. Levels and criteria of accomplishing students’ independent work have been described as well as teacher’s role and functions in that process have been considered. The article contains a questionnaire. A survey has been conducted among ASPU students after Kh. Abovyan; the data have been analysed and conclusions have been drawn.
