A Comparative Clinical study on the efficacy of 10 D Holistic healing Vs. Oral Treatment alone in Chittodvega (GAD)

ABSTRACT Background: Maharishi Charaka has described Chittodvega, as one of the psychological afflictions that sprouts due to the vitiation of the Mansik Doṣhas: Rajah and Tamah [1]. As per similarity in aetiology & cardinal symptoms, Chittodvega may be clinically correlated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder/GAD, described in modern medicine. [2]. Sarpagandha Mishran (administered as an oral drug in both Group A & B) is one of the most preferred drug of choice for treating Chittodvega [3]. However, to effectively manage all symptoms and prevent a recurrence of the disease, this clinical study evaluates a comprehensive, 10-dimensional holistic healing module (administered in Group A) designed based on the 'Trividha Chikitsa' (threefold therapy) described in Ayurveda [4]. Materials and methods: The clinical study was conducted amongst 100 patients suffering from Chittodvega (GAD). The study design was a controlled randomized parallel group trial (RCT). There were two groups each composed of 50 patients, Group A (treated with10 Dimensional Holistic Healing Modality), and Group B treated with Tablet Sarpagandha Mishrana only, for a duration of 30 days. Follow-up and assessment were conducted for both groups after 30 days of treatment. Outcomes were measured and compared using pre- and post-treatment assessment parameters of 15 Ayurvedic and 15 modern subjective parameters, the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) for anxiety, and Chakra alignment (%) via Bio-Well Kirlian photography. Objectives: The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of '10-Dimensional Holistic Healing' in the treatment of Chittodvega (GAD) and to compare it with the after treatment results of oral treatment alone with Tablet. Sarpagandha Mishran. Results: Group A exhibited a higher mean stress reduction (23.78) on HAM-A, than Group B (13.12). Both groups showed a significant drop in grading of Subjective symptoms of Chittodvega (GAD), but the magnitude was greater and more consistent in Group A. Moreover, Group A superceded Group B in terms of considerable improvement in all psychological symptoms. Conclusion: The 10 Dimensional Holistic healing module demonstrated better results in treating Chittodvega (GAD), with both statistical rigor and real-world relevance. KEYWORDS: Chittodvega, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, GAD, 10 Dimensional (10 D) Holistic Healing, Yajña Chikitsa, Sarpagandha Mishrana, Psychoneurobics.
