Analysis of the Start-Up of a Wound-Rotor Induction Motor with an Eddy-Current Starter
This paper presents an integer and fractional-order Park’s model of a wound-rotor induction motor with a three-phase eddy-current starter incorporated into the rotor circuit. The integer-order model is described by differential equations with integer-order derivatives. The fractional-order model contains differential equations with integer and fractional-order derivatives. The parameters of the equivalent circuit were determined on the basis of an approximation of the stator spectral inductance frequency response derived from an electromagnetic field analysis. Based on the specified parameters of the equivalent circuit, a simulation of the dynamic states of an induction motor with an eddy-current starter was carried out using both integer and fractional-order models. Chapter 6 presents a comparison of the waveforms obtained from computer simulations with those recorded during the start-up of the induction motor with an eddy-current starter.
