Abstract: The tribal community plays a significant role in Indian society. However, numerous studies indicate that the socio-economic conditions of the tribal community remain inferior to those of other communities. The government has introduced various schemes to support the tribal population after independence. This study represents the socio-economic conditions of tribals in Nashik and Palghar districts. In this study, comparative analysis of socio-economic conditions of tribals and utilization of government schemes among tribals are presented. The main objective of the research is to study the income, occupation, awareness level and utilization of schemes by tribals in Nashik and Palghar and make comparative analysis. For this a structured questionnaire framed to collect the data from respondents. This study evaluates the awareness level of schemes and its utilization gap among tribals.
