Lobular capillary hemangioma of the nasal cavity presenting as unilateral obstruction: a case report

Abstract Background Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) of the nasal cavity is an uncommon benign vascular tumor of the nasal cavity that can present diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to its clinical presentation mimicking other nasal pathologies. Case Presentation A 57-year-old female patient presented with progressive right-sided nasal obstruction, intermittent epistaxis, and headache for 11 months. Endoscopic examination revealed a reddish, friable mass attached to the nasal septum cartilage, and CT imaging showed a nonvascular soft tissue lesion. The mass was completely excised endoscopically, with histopathology confirming LCH. Postoperative recovery was uneventful, and no recurrence was noted over three years. Conclusion This case demonstrates the successful endoscopic management of nasal LCH with excellent long-term outcomes and emphasizes the importance of histopathological confirmation for definitive diagnosis.
