Awareness and Attitude towards E-Learning among Higher Secondary School Students: A Comparative Study of Government and Private Schools in Raipur District Chhattisgarh.

Abstract::The rapid expansion of digital technologies has made e-learning anincreasingly important component of school education. This study examined students’awareness of and attitude towards e-learning at the higher secondary level andcompared students from government and private (non-government) schools in Raipurdistrict, Chhattisgarh. The study followed a descriptive survey design. A total of 200students studying in Classes XI and XII were included, comprising 100 students fromgovernment schools and 100 from private schools. Data were analyzed usingdescriptive statistics and an independent-samples t-test. The supplied study resultsshow that private-school students obtained a higher mean awareness score (M = 69.91,SD = 7.78) than government-school students (M = 64.82, SD = 7.45), with t(198) =4.72, p < .001. Similarly, the mean attitude score of private-school students (M =76.82, SD = 8.46) was higher than that of government-school students (M = 70.54, SD= 8.12), with t(198) = 5.36, p < .001. Derived effect sizes were approximately Cohen’sd = 0.67 for awareness and d = 0.76 for attitude. These findings indicate a statisticallysignificant difference between the two school-management groups in the supplieddataset. The findings are discussed in relation to digital learning access, technologyacceptance, school-level support, and the continuing development of digital educationin India. The study also highlights the need to interpret school-type differencesalongside infrastructure, connectivity, teacher capacity, and students’ prior exposure todigital learning.
