Anaphylaxis with Paradoxical Hypertension During Platelet Transfusion: A Case Report
with epinephrine [2].Nevertheless, atypical presentations of anaphylaxis without hypotension have been reported, including cases with normal or elevated blood pressure [3,4].Such presentations may delay recognition or lead to misdiagnosis, particularly in transfusion settings where hypertension is more commonly associated with alternative diagnoses, such as transfusion-associated circulatory overload (TACO).Hypertensive anaphylaxis remains poorly characterized and, to our knowledge, has not previously been reported following transfusion. We report a case of transfusion-associated anaphylaxis presenting with marked hypertension and discuss the associated diagnostic challenges and clinical implications.
