A Bioconjugable Eu(III)-Based Luminescent Probe for Multicolor and Time-Gated Immunofluorescence
Abstract We present a π-conjugated ligand endowed with blue emission and the ability to form a self-assembled red-emitting europium(III) complex with a long emission lifetime (430 μs), even in a complex cellular environment. The ligand is easily synthesized, readily conjugated to antibodies, and suitable for multicolor and time-gated fluorescence microscopy, offering the possibility of imaging cellular structures in distinct spectral and temporal windows.
