Understanding gender dysphoria through diverse clinical presentations

ABSTRACT Gender dysphoria(GD) is a psychological condition where an individual experiences a strong incongruence between their assigned sex at birth and their experienced gender identity. A case series of four individuals,presented with gender dysphoria in varying life circumstances. All four patients shared a sense of discomfort with their assigned gender, social isolation, and emotional distress. Co-occurring conditions included depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and suicidal ideation. Through psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, pharmacological support, and gender-affirming referrals, most patients showed improvement.GD presents differently across age groups, and early identification with supportive psychiatric intervention plays a key role in psychological stabilization and well-being.
