Evaluation of the Association of Novel and Conventional Inflammation Indices with Acne Vulgaris Severity: A Retrospective Case-Control Study

Purpose: We set out to quantify conventional (NLR, PLR) alongside newer multicellular inflammatory indices (SII, SIRI, AISI) in acne vulgaris (AV), and to determine how closely each tracks clinical severity. Materials and Methods: Records of 230 individuals carrying a clinical AV diagnosis were reviewed retrospectively against 265 controls frequency-matched for age and sex, yielding a study population of 495. Within the AV arm, cases were assigned to mild, moderate, or severe categories.
