Risks of the Agricultural Sector: A Regional Aspect

At the regional level, the main problems of the agricultural sector are being addressed: food security and socio-economic development of rural areas are being ensured. The problems of analyzing the management risks of the agricultural sector in the region are considered on the example of the Tver Region. In order to organize effective management of the agro-industrial complex, it is necessary to minimize the risks that arise in the regional agricultural system. The article discusses the main groups of such risks (natural, economic, production and technological, social, legal, organizational and personnel, and marketing). Organizational methods for managing the risks of the agricultural sector in the region are proposed in order to minimize them. These methods include crop and animal insurance, the use of drought-resistant crops, diversification of production, the implementation of modern monitoring systems, the creation of reserve funds, price hedging, and the introduction of precision farming based on digital technologies. Methods of protection against possible damages include, first of all, preventive monitoring measures, organizational management methods, and the use of modern digital technologies.
