Allocate optimal locations for EVCSs in major saudi cities using GIS-based AHP approach

Reducing the usage of fossil fuels is a widely acknowledged concern because of their diminishing supply and the negative environmental effects of transportation. Thus, electrical energy will surely come first when considering alternative energy sources. However, to achieve that process, electric vehicles (EVs) should be preferred over fuel cars. However, there are several difficulties, such as suitable locations and coverage ranges for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs).In this project, we aim to plan and allocate optimal locations of EVCSs in Jeddah city, which is the solution for the mentioned problems. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was used for data weights to evaluate the data location criteria by the experts. The AHP method was integrated with the Geographic Information System (GIS) analyzed and presented on a map with the analysis of the AHP method. The results were shown in a suitability map & serves area layout for the optimal EVCSs locations based on specific weights. Service area and Location allocation network analysis were included in the results. Location-Allocation was applied for the EVCSs distribution, and serves area analysis was used to check the coverage of the EVCSs around Jeddah city.
