3F4D+MD Irrigation Method
This document is a manual detailing the "3F4D+MD" irrigation method, which is increasingly being adopted for rice cultivation in Bangladesh and other regions. The attached file, "Manual 1.1_compressed.pdf," illustrates data on rice production trends, the historical development of irrigation facilities, and specific step-by-step water management procedures. By combining 3F4D (3 days of flooding and 4 days of drainage) with Mid-Season Drainage (MD), this technology aims to conserve agricultural water while producing safe rice by minimizing the risk of arsenic absorption. Authored with the collaboration and endorsement of numerous experts and researchers, this manual was developed to promote the widespread use of sustainable water management techniques. We hope this resource will be widely utilized in practical field operations and academic research, contributing to the advancement of environmentally friendly agriculture adapted to climate change.
