Effectiveness of High-Intensity Electromagnetic Stimulation Delivered by the Super Inductive System Combined with Therapeutic Exercise and Health Education in Lateral Epicondylalgia: Study Protocol for a Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial

Background: Lateral epicondylalgia is a common musculoskeletal condition that negatively affects functionality and quality of life, with a clinical and socioeconomic impact. Although therapeutic exercise is considered the first-line conservative treatment, there is no consensus on the most effective strategy, and the role of electrotherapy techniques remains controversial. Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Super Inductive System (SIS) combined with a therapeutic exercise and health education program in patients with lateral epicondylalgia. Methods: A randomized, multicenter, blinded trial is proposed. A total of 120 participants will be randomly assigned to an intervention group (IG) or a control group (CG). Participants in the IG will receive SIS treatment at a therapeutic dose, combined with therapeutic exercise and health education. Participants in the CG will receive SIS at a non-therapeutic dose along with the same exercise and education program. The intervention will consist of eight sessions. The primary outcome will be the PRTEE score. Grip strength, mobility, and quality of life will be assessed at baseline, immediately after treatment, and at 3- and 6-month follow-up assessments. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of SIS in lateral epicondylalgia.
