REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR WATER USE, WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT IN THE DESIGN AND OPERATION OF CARWASH STATIONS

Carwash stations are water-intensive and discharge wastewater containing suspended solids, petroleum products and surfactants. This research reviews the Uzbek regulatory framework for water use, wastewater management and environmental assessment of carwash stations as of 2026, with reference to selected international standards. The analysis shows that national legislation already provides a basis for permitting, pretreatment and water accounting, while integration of water efficiency, local treatment and reuse into design remains the main area for development.
