School Leadership and Quality Teaching in Secondary Schools of Rwanda: Teachers' and School Leaders' Experiences from Kamonyi District

This study explores how school leadership influences the quality of teaching in Rwandan secondary schools, drawing on the experiences of teachers and school leaders in Kamonyi District. It examines how instructional leadership practices shape teachers’ professional practice, classroom instruction, collaboration, motivation, and the overall quality of teaching and learning. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study provides context-specific insights into the realities, challenges, and opportunities surrounding effective school leadership in Rwanda. Its findings offer useful perspectives for school leaders, teachers, education policymakers, researchers, and education quality practitioners seeking to strengthen instructional leadership and improve the quality of education in Rwandan secondary schools.
