Fuzzy State Estimation for Asynchronously Switched System via Non‐Centrally Symmetric Constrained Zonotopes

ABSTRACT This article addresses the problem of asynchronous interval estimation for switched Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems subject to unknown‐but‐bounded and asymmetric uncertainties. Unlike traditional zonotopic estimation methods, a high‐precision and more general estimation scheme based on constrained zonotopes is developed to achieve a tighter wrapping of the actual system states. By constructing observer‐mode‐dependent Lyapunov functions, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the stability and performance of the error system. On this basis, the switching law and asynchronously fuzzy observer gain are co‐designed. Furthermore, time‐varying constrained zonotopes that provide tighter interval bounds are established for the system states. In the end, an illustrative example validates the superiority and effectiveness of the developed estimation scheme.
