Visible-Light-Induced Stereoselective Radical 1,3-Iodosulfonylation of Methylenecyclopropanes
Abstract We report herein a visible-light-promoted strain-release-enabled regio- and stereoselective radical 1,3-iodosulfonylation protocol for the synthesis of alkyl iodide-containing alkenyl sulfone compounds. The use of unactivated methylenecyclopropanes (MCPs) as radical acceptors was crucial for the present cascade radical difunctionalization process via a formal C–C bond cleavage under ambient temperature and transition-metal-free reaction conditions.
