One Universe, Many Crossings: On the Created Physical Order, the Multiplicity of Crossings, and the Unity That Simultaneity Cannot Provide

Special relativity removes the idea of a frame-independent cosmic present, but that correction raises a further metaphysical question: if temporal continuants are actual at distinct crossings, what makes them members of one universe rather than an aggregate of unrelated histories? This essay answers by separating five terms that earlier stages of the Gaitan Topology allowed to overlap: Now, crossing, lemniscate, universe, and Ground. The Now is the formal condition of temporal actuality; a crossing is its instantiation in a continuant; the full lemniscate describes the successive actualization of a knowing continuant; the universe is the single physical created order within which temporal histories stand in causal and relational structure; and the Ground is the Non Derivative upon which that order depends. Cosmic time does not restore a universal actuality-Now, nor does the universe acquire a worldline of its own. The essay argues instead that the universe is one by order, not simultaneity: order makes the cosmos one, while Ground makes that oneness received rather than self-subsisting.
