Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingectomy in a Perimenopausal Woman with Chronic Cervicitis and Pelvic Adhesions

Abstract Chronic cervicitis is a common gynecological condition that may present with persistent vaginal discharge and pelvic discomfort. When conservative management fails, surgical intervention may be warranted. We report the case of a 42-year-old perimenopausal woman with chronic vaginal discharge and imaging features suggestive of cervicitis, who underwent diagnostic hysteroscopy followed by total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy. Intraoperatively, significant pelvic adhesions with bowel adherence to the posterior uterine wall were noted, necessitating careful adhesiolysis. The patient had an uneventful postoperative recovery. This case highlights the importance of comprehensive evaluation and meticulous surgical planning in patients with chronic inflammatory pelvic pathology.
