The Concept of Unemployment as a Global Problem and Its Dimensions

Aim: Employment and unemployment are currently a significant issue, discussed at regional, national, and international levels, as they have been in the past. Economic crises experienced regionally or globally negatively impact state economies, triggering other socio-economic problems. Consequently, states and governments periodically develop policies to address economic and unemployment problems and minimize unemployment. This effort is based on examining global productivity problems based on generally accepted approaches. However, changes in global performance emerge from a transformational and theoretical perspective. Furthermore, the literature has highlighted the effects of deterioration, the global stress caused by economic downturns, and the resulting consequences. The theoretical connection between performance and globalization in this study is crucial in providing a perspective on these changes and transformations.Method: The hermeneutic approach was used in the study.Results: Global economic crises and the methods and measures to be taken to combat unemployment resulting from these crises have been presented through approaches such as "Neo-Liberalism" and "Keynesianism", which have an important place in economic literature and have been implemented by states in the field of economics at certain periods.Conclusion: The dimensions and general characteristics of global unemployment are examined, followed by an assessment of global employment and its structure, and finally, the evolution of employment policies developed to combat global unemployment. Thus, within the framework of the theoretical approaches of "Neo-Liberalism" and "Keynesian" economic models, global economic crises and the resulting unemployment-fighting policies are proposed.
