Enterprise knowledge digitization, knowledge integration capability, and inter-organizational knowledge sharing

The complex market environment makes it challenging to meet innovation demands through internal knowledge reserves alone, making inter-organizational knowledge sharing an important way for enterprises to seek innovative resources. Knowledge digitization transforms the form of knowledge, thereby enhancing enterprises’ integration capabilities and invigorating inter-organizational knowledge sharing. The purpose of this study is to explore how enterprise knowledge digitization affects inter-organizational sharing, with particular focus on knowledge integration’s mediating role. The samples from 330 diverse enterprises in knowledge alliances were analyzed using structural equation modelling to examine the relationship between knowledge digitization, knowledge integration, and inter-organizational knowledge sharing. The results show that enterprise knowledge digitization has a positive impact on inter-organizational knowledge sharing, with knowledge integration capabilities partially mediating this relationship. This finding highlights the important role of knowledge management in facilitating inter-organizational knowledge sharing in the digital context and provides methods and suggestions for enterprises to strengthen the effects of inter-organizational knowledge sharing in the digital context.
