Pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia
Abstract Pancreatic cancer, a highly aggressive malignancy with dismal clinical outcomes, remains associated with a great difficulty in early detection. Pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN), the most significant precancerous lesion of pancreatic cancer, is a critical opportunity for improving the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer. The identification of PanINs serves to improve the survival rate of patients with pancreatic cancer. In recent years, driven by the rapid advancements in molecular biology, imaging technology, and artificial intelligence, substantial progress has been made in PanIN detection. This article systematically reviews current research advancements in PanIN, encompassing its definition, pathology, mechanisms of occurrence and development, and detection technologies.
