Inside Back Cover: Flavin Catalysts in Organic Synthesis
Today, flavin catalysis offers a rich toolbox for synthetic organic chemistry. It is inspired by different catalytic activities – oxygenation, oxidation, covalent activation, and reduction – found in flavoenzymes with the natural (–)-riboflavin-derived cofactors. In the Minireview e6683110, Jan Freudenberg and Golo Storch highlight a variety of recent transformations enabled by (excited) flavins in different redox states.
