Unspecific Peroxygenase‐Based Chemo‐Enzymatic Synthesis of Amino Alcohols for Pharmaceutical Preparation
This study explores the use of unspecific peroxygenases for the enantioselective preparation of amino alcohol-based pharmaceuticals and their respective precursors. The aim of this work was to develop a practical concept by simplifying the otherwise complex synthesis approach, thereby expanding the application of unspecific peroxygenases toward chemo-enzymatic synthesis. To introduce hydroxy groups at specific positions within protected amines, the unspecific peroxygenase (UPO) was used, which facilitated the enantioselective synthesis toward shorter overall reaction pathways and thus may serve as an addition to the preparative toolbox with this type of enzyme.
