New Isatin Hydrazones Exhibiting Activity Against Certain Gram-Positive Antropopatogens

Abstract New isatin-3-acylhydrazones containing a sterically hindered phenolic moiety at position 1 and various substituents in the aromatic moiety of the heterocycle were synthesized. High selective antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive pathogenic bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains, was demonstrated.
