ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL INDICATORS OF UZBEKNEFTEGAZ JSC FOR 2022–2025

This article analyses the key environmental indicators of Uzbekneftegaz JSC for 2022–2025 based on the company's sustainability reports. The study examines greenhouse gas emissions, water withdrawal, energy consumption, the use of renewable and secondary energy sources, hazardous waste generation and recycling, as well as selected environmental expenditures and cost savings reported by the company. The results indicate that water withdrawal decreased from 28,601.9 thousand m³ in 2022 to 19,443.8 thousand m³ in 2025. During 2023–2025, heat energy consumption also declined, whereas electricity consumption increased. The use of solar energy expanded considerably over the period examined. At the same time, hazardous waste generation increased, while direct Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions were slightly higher in 2025 than in 2023. These developments indicate differing trends across the company's environmental performance indicators and highlight areas in which further improvements in resource efficiency and environmental management may be considered. The study also emphasises that changes in reporting boundaries and calculation methodologies should be taken into account when comparing environmental indicators across different years.
