OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF MODERN AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGIES IN COTTON PRODUCTION

This study analyses the economic efficiency of applying modern agricultural technologies in cotton production in Uzbekistan. It compares cotton production systems based on traditional local seed technology with those incorporating foreign technologies, particularly elements of Chinese cotton cultivation practices, in terms of production costs per hectare, yield, unit cost, profit, and profitability. Calculations based on 2025 data demonstrate that although the integrated application of modern agricultural technologies increases production costs to some extent, the resulting improvement in yield reduces the unit cost of production and significantly enhances the overall economic efficiency of cotton farms.
