Dynamics of Reproductive Capacity

Reproductive Capacity possesses its own dynamics, which govern the evolution of reproductive states. A present deficit may be followed by strengthening, while Reproductive Capacity above the threshold may deteriorate. Crossing the threshold therefore guarantees neither persistence nor stability. The reproductive trajectory also differs from that of the stock, whose growth may accompany a deterioration in the conditions of future reproduction. Finally, the reproductive threshold, the dynamic threshold, and equilibrium are distinct. The dynamics may thus exhibit multiple equilibria, domains of attraction, reproductive traps, path dependence, hysteresis, and qualitative changes.
