Oerlikon Metco & Praxair Surface Technology Genealogies 1836-2012

There are two major global companies that service the thermal spray and surface engineering markets: Metco (now rebranded as Oerlikon-Metco) and Praxair Surface Technologies (now rebranded as Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. (Linde AMT)). The time frame of this document is between 1836 to 2012. The evolution of these companies has spawned new companies, spin-off ventures and new technology. This guide is intended to document business relationships that have developed over many decades. This knowledge provides an understanding concerning the retention of legacy equipment and feedstocks. This document does not purport to be a company-sanctioned authoritative commentary. It is an independent summary of the historical growth for two companies.
