Post-Publication Discussions in (Mathematics) Education Research: Towards Broader Post‑Publication Engagement

Educational scholarship is commonly shaped through the collective efforts of research communities. Building on the notion of post-publication discussions (PPDs) in mathematics education research, this article extends the focus to broader post-publication engagements (PPEs). It conceptualizes PPEs through two interrelated dimensions: (1) motivations for ongoing engagement following publication, and (2) factors that constrain such engagement, alongside the opportunities and tensions that arise within PPE processes. Reflections made aim to prompt further dialogue within the wider education research community on how PPEs can be conceptualized and enacted to enrich academic practice and enhance societal impact.
