Proximity to green spaces: An analysis of neighborhood income distribution in French urban areas

In a context where research on distributive justice is receiving increasing attention, this study aims to identify the existence of inequalities in access to green spaces in French urban areas. To this end, using 200 m grid data combined with the spatial location of green spaces, we estimate several conditional quantile regressions that successively account for the type of green space, their size, and the intensity of their presence in the vicinity of neighborhoods. The results suggest the existence of inequalities in access to certain types of green spaces, which vary according to both the size and the intensity of green spaces.
