Current situation and proposed future development of wind power generation
Energy is the cornerstone of human existence and development in modern society. With an increasingly tight supply of fossil fuels, the large-scale development and utilization of renewable energy have become an important part of the future energy strategy across the world. This paper shows the current development status of wind power generation and discusses its advantages and limitations, with a focus on the mechanism of wind turbines. Research and analyses presented in this report include high-quality reviews and original data from scholarly articles published between 2000 and 2025, sourced from several peer-reviewed journals. Wind power generation systems convert kinetic energy from the wind into electric energy, providing numerous advantages, such as minimum pollution and electricity accessibility in remote areas. However, due to the current technical limitations, wind power generation is disadvantageous for its low energy density, conversion efficiency, as well as function stability. This paper serves as an exploration of the factors that contribute to the performance of wind power generation in hopes of discovering areas of improvement to alleviate energy problems in society. This study highlights that focusing on feasibility is crucial for enhancing the implementation of wind power generation on a larger scale. Specifically, agents and entities must act in unison on four levels – Technical, Environmental, Regulatory, and Industrial – to promote the implementation and widespread use of wind power on a large scale. These findings can serve to provide a framework for engineers, scientists, and policymakers to prioritize development efforts and improve economic viability.
