Groundwater amphipods of the genus Metacrangonyx , in the South High Atlas of Morocco; with description of two new species
The groundwater genus Metacrangonyx (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Metacrangonyctidae) is highly diversified in Morocco. Two new species from wells of the South High Atlas are described. Metacrangonyx messoulii sp. n. is distinguished by four dorso-distal robust setae on the peduncle of the third uropod, while M. nicoleae sp. n. has no armature on this peduncle. The two new species belong to the phylogenetic panousei species group, members of which share a reduced third uropod characterised by an apical robust seta on the exopodite.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:B7BBE733-08A4-4547-B024-F4E247C0E1C7
