Dental-related cervicofacial cellulitis complicated by pyothorax: A case report

Cervicofacial cellulitis is a serious condition that can be life-threatening. It can be localized or diffuse, with spread to other anatomical regions. Spread to the mediastinum, pleura, and pericardium remains a serious and costly complication requiring urgent multidisciplinary management. We report a case of acute cellulitis of dental origin complicated by massive pyothorax, managed in the Department of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Yalgado Ouédraogo University Hospital in Burkina Faso.
